Winter Running 2023

As I am sure you have realised we are now definately in Autumn and Winter is just around the corner. The nights have got longer which means you must now bring with you to every run session;

  1. High vis top (not just white or a bight colour, but actually something that is reflective so cars can see you.

  2. Some form of torch. Ideally across your chest or a head torch so you can keep your hands and arms free. This is important so you can see other people and hazards!

Sessions will run despite the weather UNLESS the snow / ice make it unsafe. If a session is cancelled you will get an email via Run Together (as long as you are registered). I will also post a message on the closed face book group and in the whatsapp group. If you need help accessing these groups, or registering with Run Together, please let me know,

Monday Night Run Groups

During the winter Monday night runs we try to achieve;

  • Some faster paced / tempo running.

  • Groups of similar paces staying close together.

Where possible we will have the following groups;

1) 7.15-7.45m/mile - 7/8 miles

2) 7.45-8.15m/mile - 7/8 miles

3) 8.30-9m/mille - 6 miles

4) 9.15-9.45m/mile - 6 miles

5) 9.45 - 10.15m/mile - 6 miles

6) 11m/mile + - 4miles

A Monday night run is an opportunity for you to work hard and push yourself. However, it is a group run and the leaders will endeavour to stick to the asigned paces.

If you find yourself in a group that is too fast on that run, please tell the leader and wait for the next group to pick you up. The drop off will need to be before the group above add on the extra loop.

If the pace of the group is too slow, please do not try to increase the pace of the group. Stick with the group and if necessary do loop backs. On the run the following week, please try the group above.

Social Event

On Saturday 15th October (post Manchester Half Marathon) there are a number of RK members meeting at 3.30pm at The Olde Sessions House for some food and drinks. If you would like to join them, please contact Cathryn Whalley to organise a pre-order etc. 07730 592879

Good luck to those running the Manchester Half!

Christmas 2023

As in previous years, Run Knutsford will be celebrating the festive period with;

  1. Some form of competitive run and meal (probably on a Wednesday night end Nov / early Dec).

  2. 12 days of Christmas. This is a 'running' challenge to keep you active in the build up to Christmas.

Further details of both of these events will be coming soon.

Any questions on any of the above, please email runknutsford@gmail.com

Happy running and see you all soon,

Vicky
